Meet Buster

Buster and Pretzel arrived at the shelter after surviving a horrific car accident, scared and confused, especially Buster who completely shut down in the shelter environment. Both dogs were already neutered, microchipped, and clearly loved, but attempts to reach their owner went unanswered.

Then came the twist — a local hospital called to say a man had just woken up after fighting for his life, and the very first thing he asked about was his dogs: Pretzel and Buster.

We stepped in to care for them while their dad recovered, giving them a quiet, safe place to land. Sadly, recovery setbacks followed and contact was eventually lost. After many months of waiting and continued efforts to reconnect them, it’s become clear Buster’s owner is no longer able to reclaim him.

Now, Buster is looking for a forever home, and we know someone is going to get so, so lucky with this guy.

Buster is a 2.5-year-old certified sweet potato: a little round, a little chunky (#winterbody ok?), and 100% pure love. This adorable guy loves treats more than life itself, and the fastest way to his heart is definitely rotisserie chicken.

Buster can be shy when meeting new people, but once you’re in his inner circle… wow. You’ve got a loyal companion for LIFE. He has the most irresistible puppy-dog eyes, the floppiest, goofiest ears, and he lives for belly rubs. Truly a professional snuggler.

Buster is potty trained, knows how to sit, loves the car, and walks beautifully on leash. While he is carrying a few extra pounds around the middle, he is a perfect medium size.

Buster hasn’t had the easiest start in life, so this little guy is looking for a calm, quiet home with humans who aren’t searching for an adventure buddy. His ideal day includes relaxing at home with a toy, then curling up with you for some quality snuggle time when you get back.

If you love sweet potatoes and are willing to share some chicken from time to time, this little round cutie would love to meet you.
