Last Litter Program

Our Last Litter Program is designed to keep mama dogs with their families, while ending the cycle of accidental litters.

Trev’s Ranch works with El Paso Animal Services and other veterinary partners to help pet owners to have the mother dog spayed once her puppies are weaned.

We then microchip, vaccinate, and sterilize the puppies, find them loving homes or transport options to give them the best possible start in life, and eliminating the possibility of the cycle continuing.

This approach allows mama dogs to stay with the families they know and love, while reducing the number of homeless pets in our local shelters and in our community.

 FAQs

  • Trev’s Ranch generally does not accept owner surrenders directly. If you need to rehome your pet, please contact El Paso Animal Services to begin their Owner Surrender process:
    📧 PetHelpLine@elpasotexas.gov
    📞 915-212-8735

Once you have started the process with EPAS, email us at trevsranch@gmail.com with your contact information, your pet’s details, and any case number you’ve been given.

Our main priority is helping animals already in the shelter, but we may consider owner surrenders on a case-by-case basis in coordination with EPAS.

  • With the support of El Paso Animal Services, our Last Litter Program helps pet owners who want to prevent future litters, while finding homes for their current puppies.

Mama dogs stay with their families, receive a free spay surgery, and we take the puppies into our care for adoption or transport to partner rescues.

    To participate:

    1. To get started, please contact Jessica from the El Paso Animal Services Pet Support Team at 915-979-6442 or navarrojm@elpasotexas.gov

    2. Head to El Paso Animal Services (5001 Fred Wilson, El Paso, TX) any day between 11am–6pm to register puppies. Bring the mother (and father if available) as well to get started on vaccines and get microchipped. We recommend going Tuesday–Saturday and asking for Jessica or Kristen when you arrive.

    3. Once the puppies are registered, we step in to help with networking them. While we can’t guarantee space at the Ranch at this time, we’ll do our best to support you and help the puppies find homes or rescue placement.

Participation depends on space and resources.

  • Foster pets at Trev’s Ranch are generally not available for adoption - but there are exceptions!

All of our foster pets are listed under the Foster Dogs tab. Read their bios to learn their stories and email us at trevsranch@gmail.com to meet them!

You can also visit elpasoanimalservices.org/adopt to see the hundreds of available pets in our area.

  • Our Temporary Hardship Foster Program helps pet owners who are going through tough times, such as illness, injury, domestic violence, eviction, or financial hardship by holding their pets until they can take them back.

This program is not a surrender — pets are expected to return to their owners. Owners must stay in contact during the foster period and pick up their pets by the agreed date. If contact is lost or the pet is not retrieved, it will be considered abandoned and may be placed for adoption, transported to a partner rescue, or euthanized in extreme cases of illness or aggression.

To get started, please contact Jessica from the El Paso Animal Services Pet Support Team at 915-979-6442 or navarrojm@elpasotexas.gov

  • Trev’s Ranch does not accept stray animals. All found pets should be scanned for a microchip at a fire station or vet clinic, posted to social media and Petco LoveLost, walked around the area they were found in to search for an owner, and as a last resort, call 311 or take them to El Paso Animal Services at 5001 Fred Wilson, El Paso, TX.
